Project Title
Polymerisation Systems for Microfabrication
Research Outline
As part of the Optonanofluidics collaboration, my research focuses on the application of optical trapping techniques to ultralow interfacial tension (ULIFT) emulsion systems. More specifically, my work aims to optically trap and deform ULIFT droplets of a readily polymerisable monomer, and to polymerise these droplets while precisely maintaining their deformation. Combining this method with microfluidic droplet generation should allow the rapid production of micron-scale beads of controlled shape.
